Description: Construction of a new community center intentionally located with convenient access via several MUNI bus and light rail stops and ample onsite parking for workers, students and visitors. The community center includes a three-story building with affordable childcare for individuals working and learning at the academic building, offices for community based organizations, multi-purpose spaces and a café. In addition, the center will have a stand-alone Alex Pitcher Pavilion Building for community events such as fundraising events, galas and dinners. This will include multi-purpose event space and a commercial kitchen. The Southeast Community Center will provide a wide range of workforce development including internship opportunities and education for Bayview residents of all ages.
